This afternoon, we were delighted to welcome Mrs. Emilie Delaval and Mrs. Daria Shebarova from Aix-Marseille University (AMU) for a special Afternoon Studio Class. They designed interactive activities and presentations for our Class 12 students, exploring topics in Science, Law, Economics, and Commerce. These sessions offered an incredible glimpse into what students can expect in the university system in France.

Mandarin Students Shine at Chinese New Year Celebrations
St. Joan’s School had the incredible honor of performing Yi Qi Xiang Wei Lai – Together for a Shared Future during the Chinese New Year Celebrations hosted by the Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Kolkata on 21st January 2025 at Hyatt Regency, Kolkata.
Our Mandarin students, led by Vice Principal Lucia Gupta, Mandarin Teacher Sreeja Hazra, and Choir Teacher Sophia Duff, delivered a truly mesmerizing performance that left the audience enthralled. Their dedication, passion, and talent beautifully reflected the spirit of unity and cultural exchange.

Russian Students Join St. Joan’s School for a Vibrant Cultural Exchange
St. Joan’s School had the incredible honor of hosting students from MGIMO University, Russia, for a Cultural Exchange Program-a day filled with music, dance, and shared traditions!
A huge shoutout to Ms. Ekaterina P. Tyurina, Attache, Consulate General of Russia in Kolkata, for making this event possible, and to Dr. Irina Prokofieva, Professor of Bengali at MGIMO University, whose efforts in promoting Bengali in Russia have strengthened Indo-Russian ties. We were also privileged to have Ms. Yulia Kalinkina, Counsellor at the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a former student of Dr. Prokofieva, grace the occasion.

St. Joan’s School announced that a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed by Managing Trustee Debjani Ghosh, in the presence of Vice Principal Lucia Gupta and Trustee Jacinta Sureka. This marked the beginning of an exciting Collaboration with Guangzhou Electromechanical Technician College (GETC).

Represented by Trustee Jacinta Sureka, Academic Coordinator and Head of Robotics Minakshi Singh Roy, and Year 12 students Mayank Dhar and Swapnodip Ghosh, the school reaffirmed its commitment to the alliance, having signed the MOU in November 2023.
This partnership aspires to elevate educational standards through the exchange of best practices and the implementation of innovative teaching methodologies, with a particular emphasis on Robotics and AI. St. Joan’s School aims to provide students with unique cross-cultural experiences and global perspectives, thereby enhancing academic programs and fostering a lifelong commitment to learning.
The collaboration will facilitate the exchange of resources and expertise, supporting curriculum development, teacher training, and the vision of St. Joan’s School in establishing a state-of-the-art vocational and technical school in Kolkata.
