Our co-educational English Medium Higher Secondary School is affiliated with CISCE, New Delhi, offering Bioscience, Computer Science, Social Science, and Commerce at the Higher Secondary level. The kindergarten section of the school, St. Joan’s K.G. School, was founded on 29th January 1987 by Mrs. Debjani Ghosh, who envisioned providing quality and holistic education. The school has laid a strong academic foundation, for children aged 2+ to 5+ years, paving the way for their admission into reputed institutions such as St. Xavier’s Collegiate School, Don Bosco School, Modern High School, Auxilium Convent, and so on. As the demand for quality education grew, the school was upgraded into a Higher Secondary school in phases. The current school building was inaugurated by His Excellency Mr. K.V. Raghunatha Reddy, the Governor of West Bengal, on 20th April 1997, with the school commencing classes from I to VIII on 16th June 1997. The first batch of students appeared for their ICSE (Class 10) exams in 2000, followed by the introduction of the ISC (Class XI & XII) sections in Science and Commerce in April 2005. The first batch of Class 12 students appeared for their ISC exams in 2007.
Recognizing the importance of early exposure to technology, St. Joan’s School became one of the first few schools in Kolkata to introduce a robotics integrated curriculum from the Kindergarten Section in 2023. This initiative is part of our internationalized curriculum approach, designed to prepare students for the challenges of the future. During the long spell of years children were given a strong academic foundation which formed a basis for their admission into reputed schools like St. Xavier’s Collegiate School, Don Bosco School, Modern High School, Auxillium Convent, Dum Dum etc.
Gradually to cater to the demand for quality education the school was upgraded into a Higher Secondary school in phases and is the fruit of a strong endeavour.
The current school building was inaugurated by His Excellency Mr.K.V. Raghunatha Reddy, the Governor of West Bengal on 20th April 1997 & the school started functioning from 16th June 1997, from Class I to VIII.
The first batch of students appeared for their ICSE (Class 10) exams in 2000. The ISC (Class XI & XII) sections with two streams Science and Commerce commenced in April 2005 and the first batch of Class 12 students of both streams appeared for their ISC (Class 12) exams in 2007.
Over the years the school has established a name for itself as a leading High School known for its academic excellence and all rounded development of its students.
